Academic Language Dictionary
This is what I refer to as an Academic Language Dictionary. During my time as a pre-service educator, I have come to know and understand many terms and ideas, and these ideas are listed here.
5-day Curriculum Project
This is a slideshow detailing my 5-day curriculum designed for Music Teaching and Learning. (Note: The first page is supposed to say Isabella Santoli and Kam Balcom.)
Sightreading and Instructional Tools Project
For Elementary Wind Practices, I was tasked with creating a lesson plan to aid with teaching the piece "Soldiers Procession and Swords Dance", arranged by Bob Margolis. Alongside this plan, I also put together a worksheet highlighting different doorways for success in this piece.
Universal Design for Learning
In Special Ed in Music, I was given an assignment to read through, discuss, and create scenarios for the Universal Design for Learning (UDL). I found that these principles and guidelines were monumental to keep in mind when in the music classroom, and that a successful program would include these aspects.

Teaching Beginning Instruments
I was given the opportunity to teach beginning percussion to a student the semester before my student teaching. Working with my student has been wonderful, as having the hands-on experience of working with a student before student teaching has prepared me to delve into how to prepare for teaching. For example, making lesson plans and tweaking my teaching style to best adapt to student needs are often discussed in class settings, but having the real concrete experience has helped me tremendously in really understanding what that means.
This is an example of a formal assessment used in my lessons. Chicken and a roll is an exercise that I have integrated into the beginning of each lesson as a warmup, but also as a formative assessment of rolls. Because this is a warmup for each lesson, I have a benchmark of progress for roll quality for each individual meeting. This, although not a traditional "test", acts as a formal assessment every lesson.
